THE SUPPLY CHAIN, OPERATIONS & ENERGY CLUB, IIFT DELHI
OpSigma, the Supply Chain, Operations and Energy Club of IIFT was launched in March 2014. It was earlier known as the Energy, Operations and Manufacturing (EOM) Club. OpSigma exemplifies the need of today’s world to migrate towards lean and tries to highlight the ever-increasing OpSigma and results of sustainability in today’s Supply Chain, Operations, Energy and related aspects in an organization and our planet, as a whole.
Operations has always been the most important aspect for an organization since the days of Henry Ford. Be it in terms of inventory and going lean or a continuous drive towards sustainability and green energy, it has gained even more prominence now than ever before. Its OpSigma encompasses the entire value chain and that is where ‘OpSigma’ tries to make its mark. OpSigma, through its activities and publications, will try to foster a culture towards pursuing a challenging and rewarding role in Supply Chain as a career.
Article writing competition
An article writing competition in conducted yearly to invite entries for our in-house magazine ‘Opulence’. The winning entries are awarded with a cash prize. The submissions are judged based on the structure, originality of ideas and the knowledge about concepts displayed.
National Operations Summit
National Operations Summit in Trade Winds is organized annually and it witnesses Industry experts across domains of SCM, operations and distributions indulge in an insightful discussion about the intricacies of firm operations and the new developments that have disruption capabilities.
It is an intra-School competition and it provides our students a platform to test their operation prowess by providing an exhaustive research about the operations strategies used in a designated firm. The students are also required to identify any possibility that might have the capability to increase the firm’s operational efficiency by many folds.
It is the flagship event of Opsigma conducted under the banderol of Quo Vadis – Annual management and cultural festival of IIFT. The event enjoys participation from across the most competitive B-Schools and involves a two-tier setup. The first round being an eliminatory quiz followed up by extension of invitations for on-campus presentations submitted as part of the case solution.
